Wilton Fields, formerly known as Lucarly’s, is the new home of Cleethorpes Rugby Union Football Club, and is undergoing an extensive refurbishment providing 3 fantastic bars & function rooms with dining facilities… all in air conditioned luxury!
It’s exciting times for Cleethorpes Rugby Club as they venture in to owning their own venue, and the former Lucarly’s site is just perfect for the fabulous range of facilities it has to offer.
With the large sports field perfect for numerous sporting activities, and already home to Rugby & cricket clubs, changing room facilities, a sports & boot bar with additional outdoor snack bar, a family bar & grill, a huge function room available to hire, snooker, pool, darts, outdoor sun facing tables and ample car parking – the new Wilton Fields really does have an exciting future ahead.
The opportunity arose to move back down here so we were able to acquire a 30-year lease. We’re a community-based club. It’s non-profit, so any surplus is pushed back into the community and it allows us to increase the player base.”
He also confirmed that Stone Oven Pizza Company have moved into the premises, which will be expanded to a sports bar and grill next month.
Long-term, we want to expand. We want to bring it back to what it was in its former years, for people to recognise it for rugby and entertainment.
We want to welcome shows and live bands so we want to apply for an arts grant for that. We want to welcome snooker, pool and darts teams down. We are Cleethorpes Rugby Club but we own 100% of Wilton Fields.Kev Davidson, Chairman of Cleethorpes Rugby Club.
And it was Kev who got in touch with us here at Torr when he needed the air conditioning & beer cellar coolers upgrading.
Sadly, the previous owners of the site had not serviced the existing cooling systems and they had got in to such a state of bad repair that they needed to be replaced completely.
More evidence of the importance of maintaining your refrigeration & air conditioning equipment, as we explain in our article here.
For the sake of a few hundred pounds a visit, tens of thousands of pounds worth of equipment has been lost for good.
The wall mounted air conditioning unit serving the snooker room was also in a sad state, but luckily, although it was filthy, it was able to be saved, cleaned, serviced and re-commissioned.
The old ducted systems were decommissioned, including the removal of their hazardous waste refrigerant, and removed from site so the area could be cleared ready for the new equipment.
A Big Foot condenser mounting system is erected to support the new Mitsubishi Heavy Industries 14kW condensers.
The exterior pipe work is installed to the condensers.
And the interior units are lifted in to position.
New return air ducting is prepared and attached to the air conditioning air plenums before lifting in to the ceiling.
Supply air ducting is lagged to prevent condensate forming when the system is running in cooling mode.
Final works prior to running up & testing the new system.
This Mitsubishi Heavy Industries system provides 42kW of cooling capacity and 48kW of heating capacity. Although it is capable of a temperature range of 18 – 30°C, it is set to automatically keep the room at a comfortable 21 – 23°C, no matter what the weather is doing outside.
The outdoor units run on inverter technology making them both extremely efficient and whisper quiet.
The indoor units are equally quiet, and with the ceiling tiles back in the roof, can barely be heard running even in the highest fan speed setting.
The system is simply controlled by 1 touchscreen remote control and in addition to its heating & cooling capabilities, is also capable of providing dehumidification and fan only air movement.
Mitsubishi installations by Torr come with a 1 year parts & labour warranty and a further 3 years parts warranty.
If the system is maintained by us, the parts warranty is extended for a total of 7 years.
