Cold beers courtesy of the latest beer cellar cooling equipment for the post match celebrations – is there anything else more important?
Grimsby Rugby Union Football Club commissioned local refrigeration & air conditioning company Torr Engineering to replace their recently failed beer cellar cooling equipment.
Thankfully the old system died during the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, so the flow of cold beers remained unaffected!
The existing system was very old and beyond economical repair, so decision was made to replace it with a modern alternative. Our system of choice was the British designed & built Marstair Cellarator Split System.
These innovative little beer cellar cooling systems feature a revolutionary one piece molded body, impregnated with an anti-bacterial additive, ideal for cellar cooling and food preparation areas.
The single split systems come in 4 size options to cover beer cellars from 22m³ and below right up to 158m³. Even larger cellars can be catered for using dual systems to keep the beer at the ideal temperature of 12°C.
The old system was decanted of it’s remaining refrigerant and removed in preparation for the new installation.
The new indoor evaporator unit with its composite body is extremely light, and easy to fit, weighing in at just 18kg. Even the largest evaporator in the range weighs in at lightweight 23kg.
The new external condensing unit was wall mounted at high level to prevent accidental damage from beer barrel deliveries. Raising it off the ground also helps to keep it clean and free of debris blowing around at ground level.
The cellar now quickly achieves its 12°C set point, even in the height of summer when it’s needed most.
To keep the system running at peak performance and efficiency, Torr Engineering now perform preventative planned maintenance (PPM) every 6 months. A PPM contract through Torr also extends the warranty of any equipment supplied, fitted and maintained by us for up to 7 years!
