Hatfield & Askern Colliery Band Continuing on from our recent works with several brass bands, Torr were delighted yet again to help when we were contacted by the Doncaster area’s leading brass band; The Hatfield & Askern Colliery Band. Formed by a recent amalgamation of the Askern Colliery Band and the Hatfield Band, the new Hatfield & Askern Colliery Band are based in Doncaster at the Askern Miners Welfare Club. Swinton and District Excelsior Band Here at Torr we were delighted to be contacted by yet another local brass band looking for our help in improving the ventilation & air quality in their rehearsal band room. The Swinton and District Excelsior Band has a wonderfully documented history, dating back to the band’s inception in 1936. Back then, 6 locals rehearsed in the unused Methodist Chapel at Swinton, the large, stone rectangular shaped building in Middle Street. Ventilation – Cleethorpes Brass Band

Following on the theme of our recent ventilation works for the Brass Banding community, Torr were delighted to be commissioned to install a new ventilation system for the Cleethorpes Brass Band rehearsal facility. Ventilation plays a very important role in the comfort and, in the current coronavirus prominent times, the safety of brass instrument musicians rehearsing in enclosed environments. The committee of Cleethorpes Band recognised this, and taking a proactive stance, through recommendation from other local brass bands, commissioned Torr to install a bespoke system to improve air quality in their Cleethorpes based bandroom rehearsal facilities.
